Celestron C8 XLT Telescope 2" eyepiece attachment

Recommended Posts

Ok Guys... next issue.. My telescope came with a 1.25" Visual Back and a 1.25" Diagonal.... I want to fit 2" pieces but want to do this as cheap as possible.. anybody know any links to the bits and pieces i need to do this as cheap as possible... If found a 2" diagonal but it is 2" both sides so no use as it is because i still need to attach something to my telescope to allow 2" eyepieces and that diagonal...

There appears to be a piece of kit here -- http://www.365astronomy.com/celestron-2inch-xlt-mirror-diagonal-for-sct-telescopes-p-2126.html

that seems to be a visual back as part of a diagonal and then 2" at the end... but its like £188, surely theres a cheaper way to do this :-((

Would recommend the Revelation dielectric quartz 2" diagonal. Comes with 1.25" adapter, I have the push fit type which screws directly onto the rear cell of the (C8) ota (no visual back) but there is also a visual back type option. Good value, check Telescope House.

The William Optics 2" Dielectric Diagonal with SCT Adaptor is a better quality diagonal than the Celestron one and comes with both the SCT adaptor and the standard push fit adaptor so it'll fit any scope. The nosepiece on the diagonal unscrews so you can fit either nosepiece.
