Would recoating a small mirror be better?

Something that I was thinking

If I was to buy a cheap small mirror (130mm) and say have it stripped and recoating (an example oos hilux stuff) how better would it perform? Against say a standered 130mm mirror

To the best of my knowledge the OO hilux is in the prep of the blank, at least i was told this by another mirror coater, if you were to do this best of getting a secondhand one, but i dont think you would see that much difference

I think the real benefit of hilux is how long they last, and they're a little more robust. Visually, i doubt your eye would notice much of a difference.

A cheap mirror is still a cheap mirror regardless of the coating. Hilux coating is really only justifyable on good mirrors.

I wouldn't bother. The difference is in the 5% region, if I remember correctly. It certainly won't be more than about 10%. You won't notice that visually.
