Albenn, I'm from Penrith originally, will probably take my 'new' Orion 150SXD with me the next time I go to visit the parents. Sky looks so 'black' when I get there it makes you sick with envy !

David how do you fair with light pollution? The glow from Liverpool city centre is bad enough where I am and I'm relatively far away from it.

The whole of Liverpool & most of the Wirral is pretty bad for glow. But at the moment I'm mainly looking at the big bright objects & planets, so I'm not that bothered by it as yet. Maybe I'll move to the countryside one day. Maybe not.

Hi Urgentemente, Rufford isn't too bad for LP from what I can tell. Incidentally, my ancestors come from melling back in the 1750's and before.
