Had another go at Venus the other evening. No real detail showing as seeing was rather wobbly.

Its not just the seeing Stuart, its also the wavelengths your using, in uv ill bet a ton of detail would have showed up, even under poor seeing. Or even a violet filter.

your confusing seeing with wavelength detail i think, not saying detail wont show under good seeing, because i know it can.

Im saying it will be limeted because of the wavelengths your using.

otherwise no one would bother going to those wavelengths if this wasnt the case.

I wish i had a spare mono camera and filters to loan you. Because i can see from your venus shots that you are doing very well indeed.

Violet does really well too not just uv, this is a good tight shot especially as you say a bit wobbly under those wavelengths ill bet lots of detail would be showing

Yeah I know what you mean Neil. I have seen a RGB Venus shot on the CN forum with some faint detail. Just wondered whether any more would show up now Venus is so much larger.
