TofuBoy
Here is an image of M109, 6x 30s stacked in DSS. Total beginner here so not too sure if this is any good but seeing as I had to guess where this was in the sky in relation to the starts I'm pretty happy M109 by SrsBzns1, on Flickr

Demonperformer
Excellent start. You can take lots more subs for stacking at this exposure length. If you are allowing 10 seconds between each sub (for example), you will be getting three subs every two minutes, which is 90 per hour. A couple of hours shooting will therefore give you 180 subs and 90 minutes of data. Also, calibration subs. Darks - cover the end of the scope and take a further 30 subs using the same exposure/ISO. These need to be taken at the same temperature as the lights. I tend to do 15 at the start and 15 at the end, hoping that will allow for any increase/decrease in temperature during the session. Bias/Offset - any temperature, but same ISO as lights, minimum exposure. Run off 30/50 of these (mega-quick to do). Also flats, but they are more complicated and I tend not to do them. Others will be able to give much better advice on them.Put all that lot into DSS and let it do its thing.HTH
