I have a skywatcher 300 dob and it came with this 2" extension ?

I don't have any 2" eye pieces so this can stay out of my eye piece box then

Yep. It allows you to use either 1.25" or 2" EP with your scope.

Cheers guys , I originally thought 2" eye pieces would go straight in to the focuser

It all makes sense now ( feels really stupid for asking now )

No worries - most scopes just have a 2" holder and you just put a 2" to 1.25" adaptor in that but Skywatcher seemed to think it would be clever to have both 1.25" & 2" adapters that are the same height. Caught me out before trying to put a standard 2" to 1.25" into the base of the focuser

The wider EP only come in 2" sizes, there's a 1.25 Wide EP limit above that and your 2" only.....
