using a finder scope for auto guiding

Recommended Posts

Cheers for the link.

Now I'm being completely daft, but I need an LX modded camera to guide and then have to connect a 2nd camera for clicking pics to my comp as well?

Do computers have issues with running two cams at the same time?

You can guide with one camera (spc900) and snap images with say a dslr and send control signals to the mount all via a single pc. You can also position the mount using stellarium. All of this using a single usb cable and 4-port usb hub to one computer only.

You'll need ascom drivers, phd guiding, and astro photography tool (APT) which can all be downloaded. APT is licensed for around £15 per year - the rest is free ;)
