I need to respray my "Vixen Green" tube rings either black or white.

Can't make my mind up.

I would like some nice black aluminium CNC machined ones but only if I can find them second hand

Nah, it came as white. Not sure what brand it is - maybe Vixen? Didn't much like it until the white rings turned up too...

That must have been difficult to part with it.

The 120mm Equinox is the scope I would most like to own (within a sensible price bracket)

Since I prefer solar system viewing it would be near perfect.

P.S it looks to me like the dovetail is the Astro engineering solid aluminium type. I have the same one in black. Astro Engineering AC502 Solid replacement dovetail bar for GEM Didn't know they ever did them in white ??

SB, it's similar but not identical. Mine has a "dip" between the two end sections, while the AE one you linked to is flat all the way. Probably a Far Eastern knock-off copy of a Vixen or somesuch...
