Had a go at this quickly myself last night but didn't get the focus quite right and struggled to get the earth shine without the crescent flaring horribly. You've managed both beautifully

Hi Cloudbuster and Stu,

Thanks for the nice comments, much appreciated.

Stu, to get the exposure right, just take lots of exposures and alter the exposure time. 1/125th at ISO 200-400 is a good start point. I took around 200 shots, and because the light was changing fast as well, I ended up with around 20 usable pics.

Accurate focus is paramout. Spend time getting that right.
