DSS and photoshop CS3

Dear All

I use the above software with a modified canon 350d camera. I stack images using light frames, dark frames and a flat frame.

I find that when the images have been stacked with DSS I can reveal a lot of detail with the luminance sliders. I then save the image as a TIFF. When I then open the image in CS3 the detail as been lost and I have spend a lot of time getting the detail back!!

Sometimes I cannot get the same amount of detail. Has anyone else had this problem? How can I maintain the detail?

Many thanks Peter

I use CS3. I'm hardly an expert at image processing, but I don't process the image at all after stacking in DSS, and leave all the post-processing to CS3. Yes, it appears very black when you open it up in Photoshop, but after a lot of careful processing you can tease out the detail. There are a lot of tutorials on this, but I admit it is a difficult one to get right.
