  1. Hi I have an Atik 314l CCD with the Atik filter wheel. My latest images of the Rosetta nebular in narrow band. The Ha filter the image appears to be fogged. The OIII and the SII have allot more detail on them. Is it possible clean or dry the Ha filter? I have also attached a Ha image of M42 which does have more detail but this was taken 4 days earlier. Many thanks Peter
  2. Hi Fozzy Just a quick question I connected the dongle and Wi-fi settings shows wlan0 in devices like yours when I click down the same wlan0 is shown. I downloaded the driver and have tried to extract the files. Thanks Peter
  3. Hi Sorry for the confusion. I thought the price of the dongle it was worth trying that first as I do have a wifi signal outside as picked up by my phone if weakened. I wasnt sure if the ethernet home plug adapter would work with my wiring my outbuildings are on my main fusebox so it should work? I think I follow your first part of your instructions fozzy. But I am lost on the second part? Thanks for all your help
  4. Hi I clicked on the link you sent me. It says mini wireless N USB adapter TL-WN823N I will try tomorrow thanks
  5. Hi my tp-link wireless adapter arrived today I will try it out tomorrow. Just looking at the instructions you connect it to the computer RPI install the driver this can be done with the supplied CD or download. Do I connect RPI AB to a mouse and keyboard? Does AB have a browser I can go online with to download the driver? Then press WPS button on router and then WPS on the dongle Thank Peter
  6. Hi my laptop and iPhone still picks my Wi-fi outside. I have a small back yard my mount is directly behind the house. The house was built 1910 ish they are brick but old type. I had the house rewired when I moved in 13 years ago and I had electric supplied to my 2 sheds which I use for power for my Astro. I understand that a powered Wi-fi booster which uses the electric wiring the the most efficient? The cost of a dongle if it doesn’t work properly it can be used on a laptop when on holiday? Thanks Peter
  7. Thanks I see they also sell Wi-fi extenders designed for outdoor garden these are more expensive . I could try the dongle first? Thanks for the replies cheers Peter
  8. So the dongle plugs into a USB port on the raspberry pi?
  9. Ok thanks Stuart should I invest in a Wi-fi extender booster as the signal will fade from my hub to the garden thanks Peter
  10. No I didn’t do that. So I need to bring the AB inside connect with an ethernet cable. Shutdown then connect all my devices outside power up login into AB and it should work? I will try that tomorrow thanks Peter

  13. Thanks Stuart are those setting in astroberry or in my home Wi-fi settings? cheers
  14. Hi I have tried again using different usb sockets no joy connecting any of my cameras looked online and some people have had problems with powered hub I assume if it works ok with my laptop the hub should be ok? Dont know if I need a Wi-fi booster I am off next week would like to get this sorted before I return to work. Many thanks for all your help cheers Peter
  15. Hi All I tested the astroberry yesterday. I loaded INDI settings for my set up Atik 314L CCD Atik filter wheel EQMOD Hitech astro focus. Plugged my existing leads into my devices then into my powered hub and from the hub into the AB a blue coloured USB socket. I powered up all my devices and the hub. I also tried to install PHD2 for my auto guider QHY5 I use PHD on my laptop with this camera. The only connection I succecced in making was the Eqmod and I was able to move the mount NEQ6. I have made a note of the USB socket on the hub that works. I will try again tommorow. The wifi was showing 55-60% Will I need a wifi extenter if so is there one anyone could recommend? Many thanks Peter
  16. Hi All I have just managed to connect to the home wifi. Thanks to everybody who helped especially Steve and Stuart. I deleted the network settings. Then when I clicked on my home wifi I entered my password as requested and connected. Many thanks👋 Peter
  17. So should I try create new new wi fi network?
  18. Hi Steve I did it a little bit different as I was following astronomy guide on you tube. I loaded AB on the sd card and inserted into Ras pi powered up connected hdmi into my monitor I did not hard wire at this point. On my PC I found the astroberry hot spot connected on it. At this point I was told to type astroberry/local into the browser this failed so I hard wired the AB this worked. I opened preferences advanced network connections this showed the connection ethernet and clicked on wireless and put my home wifi details SSID wifi security typed in my home password and saved. From the right hand corner showing connections clicked on this and choose connect to hidden wifi connection which had my home wi fi on that I had just saved. At this point the AB is rebooted and is connected to the home wifi and the AB hotstop disappears. I am not sure if this happened for me I assume it did, I didn't remove the ethernet and I started on INDI settings. Next day and since I have been unable to connect only when I use the ethernet. I can see my home wifi in the top right corner when I click on it the icon changes and spins and then goes back to wired. Do I need to go back to AB hotspot and start again or can I just clear all of the info in network connection? and create wifi network? I have been trying to follow your list as I didn't want to bother you thanks Peter
  19. Hi Steve thanks for your reply I am out at the moment. From memory what you have described is the same I will try again when I get home thanks for your help regards Peter
  20. Hi Many thanks for your replies. I notice that the R pi comes with 4 USB ports . I use powered hub with my laptop as I need more ports will the R pi work the hub? I also use a wired games pad to to control the mount for alignment this was set up with eqmod. I think that SM / astroberry will run eqmod? So if I buy a R pi 4 I need 4gb RAM a case power supply HDMI lead to load the software and can I use my existing usb leads? (shorter ones would be easier) I also have eqdir lead connects the eq6 to the laptop can that be used? Cheers Peter

  22. Hi I have wired the connection. When I left click on the network icon I can see my network I click on it and the network icon changes from wired and spins this happens for a few minutes and it goes back to the wired sign again (failing to connect wirelessly)? In AB preferences network connections, all my details are correct for the wireless connection. If I unplug the wire I lose connection and I can't reboot. The point about connecting to hidden network was because I was following a youtube video in the video AB is connected wirlessly from the AB hotspot and then the home wifi details are entered in preferences connections etc I was just following the video Sorry if I have complicated things I try again tomorrow Thanks for all your help cheers Peter
  23. Hi I have hard wired the AB. The browser works and shows a wired connection. I checked all of the wireless setting which looked correct. I have lowered the connection number and tried different numbers. When I then click on connect to hidden wireless network it searches and goes back to wired, I tried removing the ethernet first as Steve suggested and the connection is cut and I am unable to reboot I have also turned my firewall off also not sure if this helps?
  24. Hi I set up the AB yesterday afternoon. I could not change the AB hotspot to the home wifi wirelessly. So I hardwired the Ras pi AB to my router as suggested by Steve (my PC is wired also). After I did this it worked and I changed the AB network settings to my home router I saved the settings and I started loading my INDI settings. I shut down AB properly, I have now turned the Ras pi AB on. On my PC I have typed astroberry.local into my web browser and nothing happens. I assumed the AB would be connected to my wifi? On my PC wireless settings AB is back as a hotspot it should have disappeared. I have tried turning firewall off and VNC off all to no avail should I go back to hard wirering the AB and start from the beginning again? I have AB PC turned on for the the next hour if anyone has any suggestions. Many thanks for all your help Cheers Peter
  25. Hi I could not connect the AB to my network using the AB ! I have lowered the number in the priory box and removed the connect auto with priority on the hot spot as suggested by Stuart. I noticed the last time the AB lost connection I was going to try and hard wire the AB to the router again. Also the INDI menu has dissapeared I guess due to the loss of wifi? I do use eqmod and I use a eqdir cable on my laptop I am trying at the moment to connect the AB to my wifi I will try later many thanks Peter
