Baader or skywatcher variable polarizing

Has anybody used the skywatcher variable polarizing filter? I'm interested in knowing how it compares to a Baader ND filter. Also what level of transmission on a ND filter would I need on an 8inch scope for viewing the moon comfortably. Thanks.

Hi, with the fixed filter ND96, you would need an 0.09 which has 13% light transmission. But I am with Grunthos, I would chose the Polarising Filter so that you can choose the density that suits you (from 1-40% transmission), I have the SW one in 2" as well as 1.25" and they are extremely good, both with my 200P f/5 and my C100ED f/9, highly recommended.
