M79 in Lepus.

Orion was rising high in the South and I could make out 3 major stars in Lepus, under Orion.

One Telrad and a bit under the lowest star the small globular cluster came into view. This is quite small at x60, best at x200 if you've got a view South.

Not many globulars in the area, was quite surprised to check it out as such. From memory there's about 150 around the galaxy halo and boundaries.

Had a look at The Crimson star ®n , nearby the eastern top star, it was red.Perhaps it's crimson further south.

Had a search for IC418, the Spirograph nebula, but being near to the horizon glow couldn't locate.

Have a look at the hare, before it skips off in Spring!

Just came back in after a 'look' - boy it is quite far south and a bit in the glow but found it! Lucky its close to a bright star. It was smaller than i expected but seen at 27x in between two fainter stars. At 55x it was more prominent but the conditions did not allow much more power. It must be a lovely sight from a site further south to be fully appreciated.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
