Was lovely and dark last night, but a bit windy with some high moisture causing some light scatter.

Forecast unfortunately is predicting cloud later today. Hope they're wrong.

I've just checked myself. Beeb, Met, and sat24 all showing a nasty bank of cloud coming our way from north-west.

It's been blumming clear and crisp skies here all day too.

Steve, was a blinder last night. Thanks for sharing the spot. M3, M51, Orion Neb, Leo Trio, Saturn and many more ...... it may not have been perfect seeing but it was still the best night of observing I've ever had!

I got home in 50 minutes. Hope you had good run too.

Make sure you have installed the latest version of Google Earth first (I'm pretty sure this is what you'll have on your iPad), then scroll down the avex-asso page noted above, until you see a link for: "<<Colour Scale>> light pollution map (KMZ file)"

Click it. Download it. Run it.

It should become visible in your google earth as an additional layer so you can easily search for Dark Sky Spots around the UK.

Not sure I'll get much time for dark sky nights in the next few months but will keep in touch.

Looks like the weather has failed us tonight.

Sounds like you guys had good skies last night and 50mins back to guildford is ideal for me as likely to be just an hour to woking.
