I agree - one is too many - it's always where you want to look!

High altitude haze is annoying. I think it's clear, then realise everything's dimmer than it should be

For imaging, even a small one can be a nuisance, but for long exposures in narrowband wavelengths you can get away with them for quite a few minutes as long as the guide star is bright enough to stay tracked. The key is that NB filters block out the glow from streetlighting that would normally makes the clouds orange and spoil a picture.

On those rare occasions that I get out of London to a dark sky site, I'm happy as larry with 7/8ths cloud cover. The sight of the Milky Way through even a small patch of clear sky can get me hopping with glee.
