Kelling SP wouldn't be Kelling SP without it! (M45)

Every year at the Kelling autumn star party I end up looking at seven pretty sisters with my telescope :)

This year I spent quite a few nights gathering the data, 15 minutes at a time, 37 exposures in total. After the main event had finished, we had several clear nights, and the idea was to get the exposures when the target was high in the sky, to avoid the glow in the sky from Norwich.

In previous years I have tried all out to get the very faint outer nebulosity, with varying degrees of success. This time i've decided to settle for the hint of the nebula.

This is a large file, but to get the best effect please have a gander at the full size Jpeg, available here. There's quite a few fuzzies visible in the background too.

Borg 77EDII on HEQ5, QHY8, Sept/Oct 2011.

Thanks for looking.
