advice on a new scope (health issues)

Recommended Posts

have had my mind set on a nice big dobson but i have a problem now.

having been taken ill, i know i will be struggling to carry/move a large dobson around having a heart problem ( possible heart bypass) and a big lifestyle change is in hand.

i require a scope i can use for imaging lunar/planets/dso but also let me view via eyepiece in summer. no heavy work so carting around gear is a big no.

so you have £250 and unable to cart gear or large scopes what would your best choice of scope be if this was you ?

mounts can be heavy but they do split into many components, tripod legs, equatorial head, weights, then of course, telescope OTA.

if you are wanting to image, you will need a fair mount

i would go no less than these (with a smaller telescope)

First Light Optics - Celestron Omni CG-4 mount

First Light Optics - Skywatcher EQ3 PRO Synscan GOTO
