Moon hits Cappa Geminorium this evening!

Recommended Posts

I had to look this up!!!! Still a major newbie.

This is straight out of wikipedia...

Kappa Geminorum (? Gem / ? Geminorum) is a Class G8, fourth-magnitude star in the constellation Gemini. It is occasionally called by the Arabic name Al Kirkab, meaning "The Vineyard Husbandman".

Kappa Geminorum is a multiple star system located about 140 light-years from Earth.

Is this correct...or another bad wiki?

Thanks for tip off CC.

Clear view from here with just the right amount off earth shine to show the shadowed side of the moon.

HIP37697 vanished at 22.04 by my watch followed by Kappa Gem at 22.06. :D

Wished I had imaged it now. :police:

that was beautiful indeed:) just a perfect occasion for the first ever look through my scope:) sadly, the clouds now took over the sky, so i had to pack up without having a look at smth else :police: nevertheless, seeing craters not "flat" but rather "3d" accompanied with Cappa G encouraged me and i've already heard few "wow's" from my friends:)
