What do you mean by the 'built-in focuser' do you mean the twist-up eyecup?

yeah thats it. its twisting up does the rubber fold over like the s/w stock ones.

just had chucked it out to cool down and did a little test between the 10mm and the 8. it seems ever so slightly bigger. and could see the bands more clearer. ill leave scope out for couple hours and go have another look around 10

That's not a focuser. It's for the rubber eyecup for getting your eye up close.

Focus is still done by focuser on your scope.
