Peak District Dark Sky Campsite

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes. I was planning to to to Muker at the weekend for a spot dark sky observing but as ever the weather is not looking good. Anyway I now plan on heading off to The Peak District and wondered if anyone knew of a nice dark campsite in The Peaks?

Edit. Just called the site and they are open but have no toilet facilities so no good for camping, pity as it sounds really very nice. Any other ideas?

Fieldhead Campsite at Edale anyone been there?

I believe this place is where they used to hold the Peak Star Party and is supposed to be pretty dark. Worth a call maybe?

How about Shallow Grange where PSP 2011 was held? Welcome to Shallow Grange

Rivendale appealed to me when I was at Shallow Grange as it was much further away from the quarries and the LP.

I agree. I didn't suggest Shallow Grange for that reason. Hopefully the work James is doing will combat the LP from the quarries but at the moment I think sites deeper into the park will give darker skies.

I gather that Rivendale has lots of statics and a restaurant/pub now so not sure what the light polution would be like. And it is VERY expensive!
