SH2-176: one more big, weak, old PN

Good evening,

The weather last week was rather good around Grenoble ; I took this opportunity to finish the acquisition of the weak planetary nebula SH2-176, in Cassiopea. Total exposure = 7h in Halpha + some RGB subs for the color.

Which gives:

SH2-176v2_HLRGB.jpg

N&B Halpha :

SH2-176v2_H.jpg

Inverted:

SH2-176v2_H_inv.jpg

And very high contrast Halpha version :

SH2-176v2_H_HC.jpg

- Taka FSQ106 f/5

- CCD Atik 4000 (-20°C).

- Astrodon R, V, B & 6nm Ha filters

- Halpha: 20min subs, total 7h

- processed with PixInsight & CS3

Not so many images of this one on the web. My resulting image is not so spectacular but I found the target challenging :)

Thank you, Marc, Rob, FAP. :)

This PN is probably the weakest I ever imaged. Just above the background signal of Cassiopea.

Olly, yes I'm doing some acquisition this week on an other one :)

This night the sky is not so clear at my elevation ; too much mist, but I am still confident for the next nights.

By the way, what is the elevation at Les Granges ? I should visit you one week end...
