102mm to 120mm short tube up-grade, Worthwhile ?

Is this a worthwhile up-grade, would I see that much more or much more detail? There is a sky watcher tube up on ebay later to day.

In a word, yep.

That 120 will gather much more light than the 102

should be a decent up grade, plus you will get a fair price for the 102

You will see more of deep sky objects. For lunar / planetary the larger aperture will generate a bit more chromatic abberation (CA) so that will mask the benefits of the extra 18mm, to some extent.

Thanks for the advise. Do you know if this tube will fit on to the nexstar stl mount?
