I use the same bracket to hold my 50mm finder and QHY5, but i was'nt happy with the spring loaded pin, so i removed it (awkward little devil it was too) but it came out and i filled the hole with Araldite, let it set good and strong, and tapped it out with a 6mm thread, fitted a little plastic pin; good as new and it holds the finder just fine.

Anchor the tube in a vice (NB not by it's dia), protecting the edge from the jaws, don't need to go too tight.

Just prise out the spring etc then drift or drill out the cylinder, fill the remaing hole with rapid Araldite, put it somewhere warm to set for 2 days.

drill out a 6mm tapping size hole (4.8mm) gently tap the hole.

Plastic pins from e-bay.

job done, easily strong enough for a guide scope or finder.
