M 20 - Trifid Nebula

A quick shot of the Trifid last night, in between the clouds. This is a stack of 5 x 20 minute color subs. It's also my first time trying to use PixInsight. Not the easiest software to learn.

Lovely shot. Nice tiny, powdery stars and a nebula that looks nebulous as it should. There's a temptation (to which I succumbed!) to oversharpen because of the dust lanes. I think you have it right.

I agree about PI, which is gratuitously obscure. Harry Page's videos are great.

Can I recommend you try SCNR on your image? By default it zaps unwanted greens and I can see one or two, notably bottom right.
