Solar prom in H-a 11/09/11

I only managed to get one 15 second video for the surface and one for the detached prom and sunspot AR11289 today. The weather has been pants lol

I caught a glimpse of this prom too, but didn't get enough time before the cloud rolled in to try taking an image. Great pic .

I'm pleased with the result considering I had to ramp the gain up to get anything through the clouds.

Did you shoot a dark frame? This will reduce some of the noise in the final image when gain is high.

Not for this one Mark, I wasn't even going to bother processing the videos until I got bored and looked for something to do lol.

I will start shooting flats and darks when/if I get a decent session.
