AZ goto Latitude and Longitude

Now I'm confused (it is late though)

itouchmap first figures say

Lat 53,57.......

Long -2.11...........

2nd figures say

Lat 53 degrees 34 minutes

Long -2 degrees 6 minutes

so am i entering 53.57 002.11 or 53.34 002.60

Sorry! I cocked up my earlier post. This is what you want.

In Itouch put in your location to get your Lat and Long then scroll down the page. The first set of figures are in decimal (you don't want these) and the second set are in degrees and mins. You want these!

FORGET THE SECONDS!

for instance my numbers are Lat: 50 degrees 43 mins N and Long -3 degrees 30 mins W

The Synscan requires you to enter the co-ordinates as Longitude first and latitude second.

So I enter 003 30 W and 50 43 N

I understand which way round to enter but as I mentionmed I have these readings on itouchmap

Got my daylight saving wrong at first but corrected it now,trouble is I cant remember if I said Y or N to get it sorted

You need to use the second set of figures (Degrees and Mins) and should enter them as:

002.06 W 53.34 N

As I posted before:

This means that if a Longitude starts with a - (minus sign) the it is W (West) If it starts with a + (plus sign) it is E (East)

If a Latitude starts with a - it is S (South) otherwise it is N (North)

I still think you will be out using the numbers you put in. They are decimal Long and Lat but as far as I am aware the Synscan uses the Degrees and Minutes format so your location will be wrong.

I take it you are in Oldham? Near Oldham Road.

If you put in the figures that you have your mount will think you are in Barnoldswick!! Which is 38 miles out!

The handset won't accept 002 6W (2 degrees 6 minutes) this needs to be entered as 002 06 W

I think the point is he is putting in the wrong format therefore his location will be wrong.
