Noctilucent Clouds?

About 15 minutes ago (around 1.30am) I looked out my back window (to the north) and saw this - are these what are called noctilucent clouds?

Nipped down to the shore front (overlooking the Firth of Forth) to get a better view. Wish I'd taken my bins as Jupiter was well above the horizon and looked nice and clear. What a beautiful night!

Thanks but the pics were a fluke. I panicked at first not knowing how long the view would last and the first 4 pics were completely blank. I was lucky to chance upon the right setting - The Canon has a 'no flash' setting and that in conjunction with the self-timer/remote setting did the trick. The joys of digital photography and immediate feedback!

The pics aside, it has been one of those nights when you don't forget to put the camera down and just enjoy the view. I'm sure most of us have had that feeling when you just want to burst out laughing because it's so gorgeous.

That is quite some picture Bulkins, even more enhanced by the by the shore lights and water reflection, as Bernard Mathews would say, beautiful
