SynScan AZ GoTo Handset Question

I have a question regarding the SynScan AZ Computerised Alt-Azimuth Heavy Duty (HD) Go-To Handset. Is the HD version ONLY compatible if I wanted to upgrade my SW AZ Auto (250) or would I be able to use the lightweight version?

I think you will find the HD refers to the tripod/mount that the handset is sold with. The handset will be the same. Maybe if you could post a link to the one you are looking at?

I have used the standard alt-az one for goto on my 250px - works fine.

I only really use it now with my StarTravel 102, as a grab-n-go. Which I may well be selling soon anyway.

I note, with chagrin, that my "spare" v.3. Alt-Az handset has one less pin than my HEQ5 PRO mount socket(?) otherwise I had thought, for a moment... <WG> BUT seriously, I could buy a whole Netbook for the price of a Syntrek -> Synscan upgrade?

Yep, the upgrade handsets for EQ are expensive, I don't have that problem at the moment, what with a dob and a TAL MT-1C.

Part of the reason for moving on the 102 & alt-az goto is I wan't to get some cash together for an EQ, with a bigger frac on it.
