Welcome to the lounge, I too spent many hours trawling the threads and reading up Before joining. Everyone is so helpfull and no question too daft. As far as I understand it everyone started where we are. No such thing as a real starbaby.

Clear dark skies.

Oh and bring on the dark nights my wife thinks I'm nuts for wanting it to get dark quicker.

Hi Lightgazer and welcome to SGL :)

Saturn was my first object too - got my first scope specifically for that and it really was a jaw dropping moment. Then I started discovering all the other stuff that can be seen - been hooked ever since - enjoy the forum :)
