IC 1396 Elephant trunk wide field w/ DSLR...

I had planned to shoot M20 again to add to those 3 subs and move up to the Omega, but my neighbor left his porch light on (town home w/ shared back yard walls...sigh) so I couldn't shoot any southern objects. I tried to put 3 hours on this but somewhere in the middle of the session the winds picked up and threw out some subs. Here's 2.5hrs of 5min subs @ ISO 1600. My first time ever trying this target and happy w/ the results and framing.

Hardware:

Scientific Explorer 152mm Mak-Newt F4.8

Celestron ASGT5 mount

Canon XS (self mod) with Astronomiks CLS-CCD clip in

50mm Autoguider/SSAG

lunch box cooler kept ALL light files to 64*F

Settings:

2.5 hrs of data

ISO 1600, 30 x 5min, 20 darks& 50 flats

Software:

Nebulosity 2, CS4, Fitworks

That is very well done - you've certainly defeated the stray light. The good contrast in the dimmer regions is superb.
