Partial Solar Eclipse 2003

Hi all

I saw the eclipse in 1999 which was more complete that the one in 2003 but I happened to be in Norfolk on the morning of 31/5/2003 and although into birding then, wanted to see this eclipse as we were traveling down.

I only had a 'point and press' cheapo digital camera so the image is not stunning but I just came across it and though that it may be of interest. You might detect a subtle level of CA in the camera lens. From memory it's heavily cropped etc.

From Britain it was cloudy, so you didn't miss much! Well worth planning ahead to see the next one though. I was lucky to see the Chinese eclipse a couple of years agoand I can't wait to see the next. If memory serves, the total visible from the central US in a few years is the next one to go for.

There's a total solar next year, visible from Northern Queensland. November, if memory serves me correctly. I was in Wu Han for the 2009 one, it was awesome, despite the light cloud cover.

I was in Hangzhou myself. The cloud cleared just after the start of partial. Lucky!

Yes Queensland next year, but it's more difficult (£££) to get to than the States!
