M3 First Attempt

Finally got the chance a few nights back to really use my new Neq6 mount and do some proper deep sky stuff. My first DSO was M51 but sadly due to my uber novice status in astro imaging I ended up with a aweful grainy single frame. Since then however I have swatted up and produced some results that have really made me smile.

First up was the Globular star cluster M3..from fuzzy patch of light in the eyepiece to a shower of diamonds on the camera.

I am Loving this new hobby.

15x30sec subs stacked and enhanced in Registax 5.1 and Photoshop.

Yes this was with my much adored Canon 1000D attached to a Skywatcher Explorer 200 on Neq6 mount (unguided for now). It was taken in high winds too, I cant believe how much punishment the Neq6 can take.

Thanks for the kind words people :D
