OK, I'm buying a DSLR with a view to imaging..

... would it be possible to give me a few pointers as to starting up with imaging.

I want to spend circa £300 on a DSLR then have a budget of around £1000 for a second hand scope and mount that will allow long exposure imaging that I can add bits to over time.

Am I asking too much?

Not really now, that budget should get you started if buying second hand, something like

I got a Canon 1000D 2 weeks ago.

Just waiting for the rest if my gear to turn up.

Can get some nice widefield stuff with the 1000d and standard lens while you wait for ya scope n stuff
