Another M42

This time I tried it with my Hyperion 21mm EP with my 350D Canon attached - 4 images 20 sec- ISO 1600- Stacked.

I was reasonable pleased as the sky was quite hazy. Has anyone else tried this method of imaging, if so your comments as to other methods would be appreciated.

Fine image Robin with a nicely exposed core and a fair bit of surrounding nebulosity. No experience of imaging through the EP except through a borrowed Lidl 70mm aimed at the moon last year. Never again thanks!

I've not tried that method but the results speak for themselves. I expect that it would work really well on a less challenging target. M42 has really bright bits and really dim bits - that makes it awkward to image - but you did great.

I've only ever used the afocul method on the Moon and Sun(with the correct filter). But never on long exposure shots.

You've got some good results there and some of the finer detail too...
