  1. I have the Cometron version, paid $20 for one with a damaged focuser, box was hit by a fork truck, probably. 5 minutes with a hammer to fix. It's a fantastic moon scope, better than my bigger Dob, and brighter for some reason. I use it sometimes instead of binoculars. Should have bought two of them and made a pair of reverse binos. Edit, I followed this guide to removing slop from the focuser and other improvements, much better now.
  2. I've been wondering about this one, SVBONY SV154 Telescope Eyepiece 1.25 inch 70 Degree 15mm Super wide Angle Telescope Accessory with Twist Up Eyecups. Lots of chatter about their eyepieces but no one mentions this one. Seems to be a one-off, they don't sell any others like it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085WW44NP/
  3. Followup by the group that commissioned the tiny scopes.
  4. I feel the pain. The woman behind me cleared the woods behind her house and put in TWO huge security lights, tall like streetlamps, that light up her property like daytime. The front side is lit up like daytime by streetlamps.
  5. Thanks for the warm welcomes!
  6. I studied biology, but never worked in the field. My observing these days is with my family, to share the wonder and complexity of life. But we look at minerals and anything. I have a stereo dissection microscope, it was easier for the kids when they were little to grab stuff without preparing slides. I also have a cheap digital microscope, which is a lot of fun and can be used anywhere with a cell phone to take photos and video that would be difficult with a lens based scope.
  7. I've always been filled with wonder when looking at the night sky and had a crappy telescope as a kid but on a whim bought a baby dob a couple of years ago and then recently bought a used Orion XT6 from a neighbor and find myself spending more time looking up. Looking forward to learning and sharing experiences. p.s. I also enjoy looking at little things through microscopes. -Rick
