    Hi all Have an Altair Astro 1.25 diagonal, that when clamped on any of my scopes just spins and doesn't hold. The tubing which goes into the clamping area is quite shiny. Wondered if I took the shine off it with some 400 grit the compression clamps would grip better? Any else had this problem before I start sanding?

    1.25 I know I could get a 2" for the Bresser and use a reducer, but I've got a Celestron MAK127 coming, so a 1.25" would do for both.
