No you are all set to attach your 20x80’s directly to the tripod.

I have the same tripod and it will easily handle the 20x80’s

Hi, I have just bought myself a new Maxbright II binoviewer as well and I can’t get the Zeiss microbayonet to screw on. I removed the T2 coupling okay but the Zeiss microbayonet won’t screw on. If I put it on backwards it screws on no problem. 🤔

I use my Pentax S 20x60WP on a pistol grip tripod and find the optical quality to be great. I also have my cheaper Opticron 15x70, but I have become attached to my little Tasco made in Japan 8x40. They are old but in excellent condition both physically and optically.

The AZ4 that @vlaiv has recommended would be ideal. I have my Skywatcher 120 Evostar which has a focal length of 1000mm on one. The AZ4 handles the plus 5kg no problem , which with my accessories is heavier than your reflector. Good luck 👍

Finally arrived, a 1.7X glass path corrector and a heavy duty T2 quick changer, both from Baader for my Maxbright II binoviewer. The quick changer adds 11mm of in focus which I hope it accepts.🤞

This is a carbon copy of what happened to my EQ5 pro mount, albeit I was using my Nevada PSU when the 5A fuse blew in the cigarette plug. I ran the usual gamut of electrical tests and found nothing (much like yourself). I was advised to replace the fast blow fuse with the slow. My mount is now running and tracking without issue. It sure looks like inrush is most definitely the cause. Good luck. Ian

Saturn is definitely an eye-catching planet alright, but I can clearly remember spending more time observing Jupiter. I don’t know whether it was the band’s, moons or the hunt for the GRS that teased me into spending more time at the eyepiece. I am still in the same camp today.

The T2 32mm prism diagonal and 2” nosepiece with safety kerfs arrived today. All I am waiting for now is the 1.7x GPC and decide on eyepieces.

This is a straightforward operation. First hold the side of your secondary holder to stop any rotation and loosen the central screw a half turn. This will now allow you to adjust the three Allen screws (one at a time). Select the one adjacent to the direction you need your laser dot to travel to be in the central mark on your mirror. By small adjustments you will easily achieve this. Once centered retighten the central screw. Job done.

It’s a moon filter

I have and use the Astronomik UHC(not E) and OIII. I have found both of them to be great filters. They were both recommended to me and I’m glad I bought them, although they aren’t cheap.

If you remove the clicklock from your existing diagonal then the light path is still 71.5mm, but if you buy the T2 32mm then it’s only 35mm. That’s less than half the light path.

I have just bought myself a Baader Maxbright II binoviewer and I also have the same Baader 2” clicklock diagonal. For the shortest light path you want to buy a Baader T2 32mm diagonal and connect the binoviewer directly to it. Then you can fit a nosepiece of the size you want in the other side of the diagonal. 2” preferably for a more solid connection.

It is pretty rare but not unknown. I reckon that there’s been more than one factor at work that night to create a perfect storm (sic) of dew formation.

Just checked it and the humidity was 95%

I do like the BBHS Zeiss prism but I can’t see myself calling on the services of the extra few mm of clear aperture that the BBHS affords. I also want to keep the light path as short as possible and the BBHS is 3.5mm longer than the 32mm T2. I also bought a Baader 2” clicklock diagonal last week as well but the light path is considerably longer in this, therefore I will be using it for cyclops viewing. I will just go for the T2 32mm and connect it to the binoviewer as a permanent fitting. PS I will use a 2” nosepiece for the telescope end
