Thanks, I've just paid the reservation fee to Lesley at Drumroamin, she confirmed that there was at least one place left for me, so I am booked in for Monday 21st November 2022 for 5 nights with EHU (I will be in a tent 4.8m long), with a grass pitch hopefully (or at least with enough grass to put my Coleman MacKenzie tent on).ย  My skies like a lot of us are extremely nauseatingly bright and orange color at night and can barely see any stars (Bortle 8, LM barely 4.3) here in St.Helens, Merseyside!

Hopefully by November for start of Starcamp I will have my Hubble Optics UL16 telescope to bring along with me.

This will be my first time at Galloway.

    Best Regards,

    A.

Excellent news! You will love the dark skies at Drumroamin, no orange glow to contend with.

    Look forward to meeting you๐Ÿ‘

Just about to leave the area for home and the weather is changing.

Wind dropping and sun coming out !!!!!

Some reasonably clear nights but the wind has been very high.

So I am so glad we had several good clear nights at the Spring Star Camp.

So fingers crossed for this Autumn Star Camp.

    Regards to All,

    ย

Jeepers O, Derek. I knew you were staying in the area for a bit longer, but were your hosts asking you to go home? Hope you both had a good time and have a safe journey home.

  3. A basic starting position would be a sight tube, to allow for centering the secondary to the primary. This could be a SW Cheshire EP.ย
This would also be used for collimation, but you could also get a laser collimator for the final collimation. You need to be sure that the laser collimator is collimated๐Ÿ™„

Last nightย  was pretty much the same as the other clear nightsย

Thanks to all for another enjoyable star camp. Amazing how quickly a week passes.

  5. Back home after yet another great GSP. Great to meet new and old attendees. Thanks to Leslie and Ralph for keeping a brilliant site and being so welcoming.

Hope people still there have good viewing conditions tonight. I sure Kenny wonโ€™t see much after the result today๐Ÿ˜„

    Roll on the Autumn GSP

Just packing all my gear but probably set off about 11am and arrive mid afternoon. Hope everyone who is travelling up has a safe journey and I'll see you soon for an update.

Depends how well Derren straps Annette to the seat on the roof of the car ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Hope it is the car and not the caravan as Annette will have to remember to duck for low bridges ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    Revelations !!

    You play Golf ...............................๐Ÿ˜ฑ

    ย

Sorry to hear Kenny won't be there. Give him my best wishes please.

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Until 2 weeks ago, I had not played in over 20yrs ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. I have played from the age of 10, only had to walk 200yrds to links course, if you know what that is, and had the choice of half a dozen courses- some of which are Championship standard. Admittedly they had eye watering green fees. If you had to pay over ยฃ300 for a round, you might be slightly miffed if you had a duff round๐Ÿ˜ฎ
