Ok tried that still no good ..... do you think the software may be corrupted... it was installed when I received it from FLO as one of their clearance offers... ?

@heliumstar Thanks for the reply, just tried your list and the camera/lens just goes round and round with the dovetail mount..... it was ok until today, even though I only had it on tuesday and no clear night yet so just played with it in the back room ..

Hope someone can help, using it in AZ mode, I select Alignment and select North Level Align, select 2 objects (e.g Altair  .... Mars) point north and level ... prass start and the head moves.

Azimuth moves around on the tripod mount(as it should) and stops but the dovetail mount (where the camera is connected) just goes round and round and round .

Am I doing something wrong or do I need to reset the software.

Hope all this makes sense.

I got my AZ-GTI 3 days ago and havent had a clear night yet, will be using either my Canon 80D and 70-200mm f2.8 lens or my SX50 bridge camera.

As I'm new to astro I will start with AZ and later try EQ mode, need to get a M12 long threaded bolt and some weights first though.

Any tips or help would be greatly received.

Looks like tue 8th Dec is going to be a clear night, just got the Sky Watcher AZ-GTI head to use with my Dslr and 70-200mm lens or my SX50 bridge camera ....... so I need suggestions  as what might be best to start with on that night, I have a good view from East to South/west and not too bad light pollution.

So any thoughts would be greatly received .... Thanks

Does anyone make/sell/produce an adapter from the mounts dovetail to 1/4" camera connector, I've seen a version that goes from dovetail to ball head 3/8"

But I want one that goes directly to the camera.

Thanks @fifeskies , I am awaiting the Sky Watcher AZ_GTI goto mount head and intend to use it with my Dslr or my Bridge Camera.

And I think a little later I will be looking into getting a telescope to go with it.

Thanks Guys tripod has spirit level but I also have a 25cm spirit level I can use, also I have downloaded an ap for my android phone that shows angles to 1 decimal place e.g 52.4 deg ... so may use that also.

Are the polar align utilities free (Aps or window download ) and any suggestions would be greatly received.

New member and new to astro here. I live in the uk midlands... 52 deg north.

Probably a stupid question .. I have searched the web but cannot find the answer.

When adjusting my wedge do I use the Red angle ( 52 deg from horizontal) or the Blue angle ( 52 deg from vertical).

Probably a daft question but have you turned off IS on the camera, I lost a whole nights images while working on my tripod a while back because the camera hunts for movement even when there isn't one, images looked ok on rear screen but totally useless.
