  2. Hi Martin, many thanks. Often wondered how much noise reduction is too much, but yes I'm using all of Russ's tools. Might dial it down next time.
  3. Just run SPCC straight after stacking. It’ll sort colours straight away, I didn’t do any scnr.
  4. Nothing wrong with the data, suggest you reset WBPP to it's default settings and try again. Not sure what the funky light leaks are but possibly filter reflections. As Fegato said, the 294 is a picky beast and works best with minimum 3 sec flats and dark flats. But your flat master looks ok tbh and the dark master is also clean. Below is after SPCC and DBE.
  5. My first competition entry, be gentle lol. Iris Nebula 75 x 300s lights Explore Scientific ED102 CF @ f7 700mm ASI 294MC Pro with Astronomik L2 UV/IR Cut filter Processed in Pixinsight
  6. Ok I'll download it and see what pops out, I'll let you know
  7. If they're straight out of the camera, I'd suggest the bayer matrix chosen is incorrect. It should be RGGB.
  8. Data collected over 2 nights on the 17th/18th Dec in B4 East Anglia 130 x 180 (6.5hr) RGB with UV/IR Cut Filter 12 x 300" (1hr) HaOiii with IDAS NBZ Filter Explore Scientific ED102 CF with 0.8 reducer @ f5.6 ASI 294MC Pro EQ6-R Pro Mount ASI Air Plus Processed in Pixinsight
  9. Thanks 😊. With regards to star colour, before I combined them there was more saturation, I guess some gets hidden by nebulosity. But I’ve never been one to overly saturate, I prefer more natural colours. The main reason for doing it was sharper, cleaner stars with hints of reds and blues.
  10. You can move files in real time over the network. Just need to setup a Samba network path on your PC and run file sync software.
  11. My first HOORGB Image. SH2-132 Lion Nebula. 10hours of OSC data collected with my 294MC Pro & IDAS NBZ filter combined with 1 hour of RGB stars from my Astronomik L2 UV/IR filter. Shot over 2 nights with my ES102CF with 0.8 reducer @ 560mm f5.6, EQ6R Pro all controlled by my Asiair Plus. Processed entirely in PI RGB Process - SPCC colour calibration, DBE, BlurXterminator, stretched, NoiseXterminator, levels and saturation. Then ran StarXterminator and chucked the nebulosity. HOO Process - SPCC colour calibration, DBE, BlurXterminator. I then star aligned both images and cropped slightly. Then ran StarXterminator, chucked the stars, stretched, SCNR, NoiseXterminator, Bills HOO normilization, and then lots of masks, levels, colour saturation and final sharpening. Finally recombined the RGB and HOO and ran a gentle star reduction with Bills scripts.
  12. Or maybe the ASIAir is enabling AP to be less 'techie'. Just because you're not massively computer literate should not stop you from imaging and to say otherwise is ignorant.
  13. Yes quite right, but still, AA+ is so much a easier and quicker. No messing with ASTAP, downloading databases. For the casual AP’er the Air is a complete solution.
  14. You're right, it does tie you to ZWO, but other than a rotator (which may be coming), it has everything.
  15. I used to use a PC stick, NINA, PHD2 etc.., but now have an ASI Air plus and have to say, it's pretty brilliant and cheaper than a MiniPC/Powerbox/USB Hub combo. Unless you need to fine tune settings to the nth degree, the AA+ is vastly simpler than anything else. Platesolving is quicker than NINA, AF is quicker, PA is accurate and new all star PA means you don't need to see Polaris. There are few niggles I have with it such as how it deals with flats/dark flats but overall, I'd never go back.
  16. Trying my hand at reprocessing my old data as, well, clouds..... This is NGC7000 North American Nebula, reprocessed from OSC into SHO. Equipment used was WO GT81, ASI294MC Pro, HEQ5, L-Enhance filter. Data acquired in Nov 2020
  17. I think life exists on Europa. What stage that life is at is anyone's guess, but more than likely microbial. In the whole universe, it would be narrowminded to believe that other life didn't exist as well as life existing long before us. Maybe even closer there will be evidence of previous microbial life on Mars, but it's a pretty slim chance and we won't find out for a good few years until the sample return mission is completed.
  18. First image after a break from AP. 6.5hrs integration time with my ED102 Carbon and ASI294MC Pro. Re-learning PI wasn't easy but new tools make using it even better.
  19. Decided to strip the OTA from a CPC800 to put on a Evo mount. Mount is a bit rough visually but mechanically and electrically it's 100%. Again tripod is well used. Just wonder what they'd be worth? £200 for the mount & Tripod? £200 for the wedge?
  20. Hi, I used to image DSOs but sold up as got disheartened with the British weather and having £5k of kit sitting doing nothing. However I'd like to get back in, but purely Planetary at this point. Thinking about Celestron and specifically the CPC 800, there's a few about for sale in various places 2nd hand. Thoughts/idea? Camera choices?
  21. It's certainly a risk with any refractor, especially imaging in low temperatures. I just think the manufacturing of the Esprit 80's and to less degree the 100's has gone downhill. Certainly there seemed to be little in the way of inspection or QC. I get a little with my 130 triplet, but only on really bright stars at lower temperatures and certainly not enough for me to worry about. https://www.astrobin.com/full/srei8d/0/
