  1. Thanks Martin, I plan to add to it when possible
  2. Thanks! I pushed the red as much as I could, not sure if it's because of the short exposure time or altitude but the red just wasn't popping. I tried colour masks and red targeted saturation but it just didn't want to come out lol.
  3. Thanks! Good luck and look forward to seeing the image
  4. Thanks, I can get a few hours per night on it but only if the seeing is ok and zero moon lol. Always wanted to try these low targets, certainly a challenge!
  5. Imaged over 2 nights and a tricky target to capture due to it's low altitude and shooting just above my neighbours roofs but I've tried to do it justice. Would ideally like another 6 hours but....UK weather lol. 48 x 300s lights with IDAS NBZ Filter ES102 @ 700mm f7 ASI2600MC Pro @ -10
  6. Thanks Gorann! I always use darks, my OCD won't let me stack without them lol
  7. The 294 amp glow has never bothered me and I’ve never had issues with calibrating it. But the 2600 is just another level and is definitely worth the upgrade.
  8. Thanks, I was really surprised with the image considering it's a heavy crop and 1/4 of the images had high cloud lol. All credit to the IMX571!
  9. Just swapped from my trusty 294MC to a shiny new 2600MC. Still working out the kinks but the quality of images is a big surprise to me. ASI2600MC Pro @ -10 ES102 CF @ 700mm f7 IDAS NBZ Filter 24 x 300s (2hrs) Processed in PI
  10. Thought I'd test my processing skills to see what I could pull out of some old data. Shot in Feb 2021, consists of 2.5hrs @ 300S, 1hr @ 60" and 5" at 5S, total 3.35hrs. Scope as a TS Optics 130 @ 900mm f7, with a QHY268C and L-Pro filter. Reprocessed from scratch, I examined all the subs with blink and subframeselecteor, restacked and combined. Then used various new tools such as BlurX, NoiseX and StarX along with lots of masking and Arcsinstretch to pull out the background IFN.
  11. Definitely possible, and I've seen it done. Although I'd question hanging an expensive camera from a 3D part, even if it was printed with 100% infill. And then there's the flex to consider which could introduce tilt. Personally, I'd wouldn't make one.
  12. Really nice considering a single sub! Stack 50 of them and it'll be incredible I bet!
  13. Data acquired over 3 nights in Jan. 1hr RGB for stars and 8hours OSC for Narrowband ES102 Carbon @ 560mm f5.6 with ASI294MC Pro Processed in Pixinsight
  14. Data acquired over 3 nights in Dec and Jan. 5 hours each of RGB and OSC Narrowband using UVIR for RGB and IDAS NBZ for Narrowband ES102 Carbon @ 560mm f5.6 with ASI294MC Pro Processed in Pixinsight
  15. I'm after a 'budget' orientated scope for galaxies and narrowed it down to the RC8 or 250PDS. I'm leaning towards the RC8 due to it being far more compact at the expense of being a PITA to collimate. Reduced the RC is 1120mm approx @ f5.6, whilst the 250PDS is 1200mm @f5. But the RC can be used natively at 1600mm f8. With the RC8 I would 100% have to fit a decent r&p focuser, but not sure how the focuser is on the 250PDS? Both would be used with m 294MC Pro (possibly Bin2) and EAF. Possibly might have to go to a OAG but will see. Any opinions?
  16. Great job, love this target and one for me when I eventually get a widefield setup.
  17. First process of 2023 and hopefully will be plenty more this year! Data collected over 2 nights and whilst I didn't get as much RGB as I wanted, well it'll have to do for the minute due to clouds and the moon. Explore Scientific ED102 CF Triplet @ 560mm f5.6 ASI 294MC Pro 31 x 5min with NBZ for Ha 74 x 2min with UV/IR Total 5hrs Integration, processed in Pixinsight Bortle 4 UK (edited) I will revisit ASAP as I want to get RGB up to 10hrs and another 2 on Ha.
  18. Thanks :). I use a script called HOONormilization from Bill Blanshan. He has some great scripts for PI for masks, star reduction, stretching and colour changes like this.
  19. Probably my last DSO of 2022, IC405 Flaming Star Nebula. Full image and crop. Data captured over 3 nights ASI294MC Pro @ -20 with IDAS NBZ Filter & Astronomik UV/IR Cut 133 x 300s (11hrs) NBZ 7 x 300s UV/IR ES102 CF @ 560mm f5.6 EQ6-R Pro guided with 50mm guidescope and ASI120mm Mini ASI Air Plus Processed in Pixinsight
