According to planning permission you're only supposed to use up 50% of your garden space with outbuildings, lol. I could possibly get another observatory on mine but my partner wants a summer house so I'll have to make do with one dome and a ROR, lol. I guess it's telescope's x observatories X how much you value your relationship, lol.

Yeah, I'd love to see them again in the flesh. Sun's activity is starting up so a couple of years time will be best. -

Hello from a new member with cloudy skies !
Nigella Bryant replied to Roy Foreman's topic in Welcome
Welcome to the forum Roy. Yep, I'm in the south west and it's been constant cloud. Managed some solar each month but night's have been cloudy. Have fun though looking at your RASA. -

Thanks, just looked up the BBC one, stunning. I remember when I lived near Glasgow I saw an amazing Aurora event must have been around 1992. Coronal crowns, pink and green moving around the sky. -

I hadn't thought of that too until I'd got an email alert from the BAA Aurora section and giving me the link. -
Hi all I'm in the south west of England but using the Shetland aurora cam was able to see this amazing event. Screenshot attached. Not the greatest of images but not bad using remote cam.

A coronal hole impact started at 0830UT 11th Jan 2021, with a negative field. Aurora to 5dg high and 90dg wide from 57.35N 002.45W at 2300UT. It will be visible as far south as central Scotland, and could go further as the night progresses. It is showing well on Eshaness Lighthouse | Shetland Webcams

You did indeed, lol. Thanks, I understand your frustration, all my telescope's are second hand but the solar one is the most expensive even second hand, especially because it's double stacked. -

I would have thought "Diplomates" lol.

Yes, better for imaging but you must never look through that stuff.

I had a PST and a Lunt 35mm in the past. The Lunt showed more chromosphere details.

Welcome to the forum, enjoy your time and your scope's.

Hiya Bobby, yes baader film works with your larger scope. I have one on my C11.

Hi, no there isn't I'm afraid. Imaging was in hydrogen alpha. You need either a quark or a dedicated hydrogen alpha telescope, also you'd need a refractor. With the Mak you can do white light solar imaging/observation. You must always use a solar filter on the front of the Mak not an hershal wedge. You'd be able to pick up any spots and falculea. Solar imaging equipment is very expensive unless you're able to get second hand. White light filters are less so. You can also add a continuume filter. You can make your own white light filter using baader solar film nd5. Hope that helps.

Hiya, yes it does because you can alter the amount of focus via the software.

Hi all, sorry for the massive delay in posting December's images of the Sun in full disk. Usual 60mm DS and Zwo Asi 178mm and false colour added in PS-CS2.
