Hi all I was just thinking if u set up a imaging session with a motorised filter wheel should u need to refocus for each filter ? Or should it be close enough that it doesn’t matter ?.and as I’m at least a week away from clear nights I must do something to ease my boredom 🌧🌧🌧🥺

Question as a friend is borrowing them and wants to know the price and I have no idea what I should be asking for.

Hi all I currently have a scope that I dont use all less than 18 months old ,a friend is borrowing them and wants to know how much to purchase from me I have no idea what price range should I be asking?. Skywatcher 130p supatrak Manual 5 filter wheel with basic rgb filters and Nikon extender tube all good to mint condition all with boxes and manuals. Many thanks

Hi all so I'm currently shooting M13 using mono cam and asiair ,so the first set of 100 images with uv/ir filter and the iPad screen shows image grey scale 👍🏻 all good so far , 2nd filter has just started red but iPad screen still shows grey images 🤨 is that right should I see any slight colour to some stars on any of the filters or will the slight colour show up only when stacked ?

2 inch adapter is very loose if thumb screws not used

Well I tried twisting collimation and it moves up 10mm but it always seem loose until u tighten up thumb screws x3

1.25 thumb screw ,meant the locking screw on the 1.25 side of the 2-1.25 reducer. Collimator when I placed the laser into the 2-1.25 reducer the laser dot was about a inch from the circle in the middle of the second mirror so I’ve now centralised it in the circle and adjust so the laser point is in the middle whole on the collimator , work has now been cancelled (how cool is that😃) so may be out tonight.

Re camera to filter wheel yes I use the t2/t2 straight in to wheel then 1.25 nose in to 2/1.25 focused, the 1.25 thumb screw had a 5mm lip that's what I took of.i had a good look this morn on the collimation and yes the laser was off by about a inch on the back mirror so I've adjusted that now ( not as easy as adjusting the back mirror) but all looks ok .so next possible outing is tuesday🤞🏻

🥳🥳🥳 Hi Adam I do a collimation every start up with laser and put the light into the middle every time ,I have noticed the black circle (looks out of focus) in the top left and have never managed to loose it . I have also had to trim 6 mm of the 2inch - to1.25 adapter to get the required interval for focus seems to be good now ,have also gone back to eqmod platesolve has worked well three different images all good and the tracking ra/dec have reduced to x1 and seems to be a bit more acceptable.not sure what more I can do for the collimation if the laser in in the centre I did just presume that was it.

Took a set of 150 images at 15 secs on M3 could see a blur of the cluster but DSs only wants to stack 1 images.

Motorised filter wheel arrived today 🥳 have gone for 1,uv/ir (for now) 2, red 3,green 4,blue 5,ha7nm. I seem to struggle getting a good focus with a batinhov mask and the asiair, anyone else having issues ?

They are baader but the other 3 are all fine

Hi all me again I bought some rgb filters I while ago new ,I finally tried using them tonight and the red glass rattles ,does this happen with change in temps or is it a straight contact shop and go from there?

Hi all This manual focussing is so tough ,gonna have to sort this out. any recommendations ?

Well mount is controlled by st4 guide cam as apossed to eqmod looks abit more stable .

🤔🤣 take the mount apart 😱, I can drive a car it dont mean I'm a mechanic lol let's hope I dont need to do that for a while.

Hi all I feel like I have taken a massive leap forward tonight 🥳 , but I dont know how to improve the guiding to make it a bit smoother . As you can see a few spikes lol. Eq5 pro goto ASIair eqmod if that helps. Thanks Si

Hi all please tell me I’m not the only one who gets freaked out with the messy cables 😫. Any ideas on tidying them up ,Eq5 pro goto din cables are super stiff and short 2 camera cables ( not cooled(yet)) dew heater running to ASIair and then to tri-pod power EQ mod . 9 cables 3 cam/cam/dew strap which need to pass the axis of the mount if asi box mount on stand or 3 eq mod/dew strap/ power if asi box on the scope + the 2 din cables . Any pics with ideas most appreciated.

Hi all less frustrating tonight .🥳 So first night with asiair only a few small issues had a loose power cable to synscan box which I solved after a while, then took a while to focus main camera ,so fairly productive .then decided to go visual on moon Jupiter and Saturn when it decides to poke its head up from behind some trees 🛸🛰.just seen Saturn and rings got a crap pic on phone cant wait to get this setup working properly 🤩😍

Until I find another obstacle
