Hi all I setup my scope last night hoping for clouds to clear π they didn't, so I packed up ext leads and covered scope with a bike cover I have just incase it rained , so today we have brilliant sun π₯³π, so is the scope ok cooking under the sun I have taken bike cover of and also the scope caps so air can circulate or should I keep it under bike cover to keep it out of direct sun ? Many thanks

Hi all I see a few ppl have what I can only describe as insulated scope and tri pod legs? Is this an attempt to keep dew from forming on the out side? Would very much appreciate an insight π€¨. Thanks

It's a lot easier to hide another scope/ silver box in the shed than another shed with a roll off roof in the garden π€£, although I have seen some good bamboo panels . -

Would love to buy some exp , but it dont work like that π₯΄. I think I've watched as much YouTube tutorials as I can manage and seen a few twice . I do love the 80ed ds pro but as I haven't really used the 130 properly yet I cant justify another scope. Although it dont stop me filling up my flo basket π and hovering the finger over the purchase button .lol -

No space in shed for it setup π plus it's a little heavey and awkward .I'm contemplating attaching as much as I can to a board so to reduce the amount that needs disconnecting every time. -
It is def more stable with the qhy cam and st80 or 450d and my 50mm lens but fun to play with .
-
Hi all so why my main setup is busy shooting clouds ,I've managed to sort out a fairly cheap 2nd setup for visual /unmod 450d /qhy5l ii with sharpcap ,its only with a st80 scope but as it was lying about . Now I just need some clr sky on my nights of π₯΄. And yes I think it's a little heavy with the 450 on for the tripod but as I'm not leaving it unattended or breathing on it while in use should be ok for now until I find a sturdier one somewhere.

Hi all I use well will use when we get a clr night a 130pds, uncooled mono cmos if you had 30 mins of data by way of 10 x 3 min expos or 90 x 20 secs expo would the results be similar or not.? Or could you increase the amount say (180) for the same result as the longer exposure.? prob a silly question. thanks

It is 11 hour drive for us but as I'm a hgv driver and pal black cabby, driving is not a prob lol

Hi all What are your thoughts on unplugging and plugging every time you finish a session , would I be safer leaving things or as much as possible still cable connected, dont want to start getting loose ports Asiair/cams/synscan. Or leaving things plugged in and risking pressure on ports when packed away in cases and bags . I'm Unable to leave it all set up and carry into shed π©.

I did for about 20 mins on Jupiter and then a brief spell on the moon just to blind myself before I packed up .
-
Well still not clear and no sign of it either π, so all packed up and I'm getting good at packing away super quietly π€£
