  1. I'm working on the L data now... Thanks, I'll give this a try.
  2. I was trying not to over stretch the image... but I do have about 10 hours of L. Would about 10 hours of L be worth it to add? I assumed that I would need 20-30 hours to make a difference.
  3. I'll have to check it out. My images usually get around 16-17 mag dim, so it's probably around there. Thanks. I used an Edge 8" SCT, ZWO asi1600mm, and Orion Atlas Pro az-eq g mount. My bortal scale is about 5 and I can see to 5.5 magnitude on a clear night.
  4. Thanks everyone. Ivan- my C8 is always needing collimation, and it gives the stars a weird half-blue half-red color...
  5. Well, the Esprit won't be in for another month, so I put in an order for the fsq 106. Yes it's expensive, but I was going to get it at some point, and I know I'll have it all my life. Also, there's no doubt about the quality or ability to cover full frame, so I know I'll have many incredible nights with it.😀 I'll be sure to post my first light results when I get it.
  6. This is a work in progress, at least as far as processing goes. This is only RGB, as I ran out of time to get L. 🙄 Not too sure about my processing at this point, I also have collimation issues, which can be seen.😟 I need a refractor... 30 hours of 300 sec R,G, and B images. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it, but I'm definitely going to reprocess. How can I improve? Thanks for looking.
  7. Very nice, I like the colors. Rodd- what adapters and rings, ect did you use to connect the ZWO to your takahashi? Also, did you use parallax or tak rings for it? I might consider getting the fsq 106 at some point.
  8. I would love to order from FLO but I'm in the US and shipping might be tricky. Anyhow, the Esprit scopes seem to be back ordered at the moment, and I'll get it in about 10 days.
  9. The weather has been bad here as well. I've only gotten one hour in the past week. I'm also getting a new scope (clouds incoming)🙄
  10. I think I've settled on the Esprit 100. I'll be fine if it doesn't handle full frame, as I'll be using the ASI1600 and probably won't change cameras for a long time. I'll definitely post my results when I get it. Thanks everyone for your excellent help.
  11. Do you see any quality decrease with the reducer, like larger stars, less detail, or strange star shapes? Also, what is the difference between the 2in and 3in?
  12. I will mostly be using the refractor with the asi1600, but I was hoping to use the d810a as well. I actually hadn't thought about the heat issue...😟 However, at some point I want to move over to one of the large full frame ccd/cmos cameras. But that is still a long way off, and I may very well have a tak by then.
  13. Interesting. My only concern would be if the field covers full frame with the reducer. What focal ratio would this bring it to?
  14. Yes, the Tak is definitely excellent. However a new version would be too expensive and an older one might be hard to come by. I'll look for one though. Would an Esprit 100 be able to handle full frame? Has anyone here had experience with one?
  15. Also I forgot to mention, the scope needs to have a full frame corrected field, as I will use a Nikon d810a with it. Is the reccardi reducer available in the USA?
  16. That's great for red zone light pollution. It definitely has more detail than my hyperstat. How do you think this scope would compare with an Esprit 80?
  17. That looks interesting. Could you post some images you've take with it? I would like a 100mm, but I would probably need to get it secondhand.
  18. Not sure about the budget yet, but i would consider anything less than $3000. I will mostly do narrowband but I will use it for LRGB for about 30% of the time. The camera will be an ASI1600 with a 4/3 Panasonic sensor. The Esprit looks great, although most of the excellent images I have seen from the Esprit scopes seem to be from the 100mm and 150mm, for example alan4908 's excellent images. This may be because more people have the larger scopes, or they simple produce higher quality because of aperture. I do like the price of the Esprit though... What about William Optics telescopes? Or Stellarvue? Does anyone get good results from these? Thanks!
  19. This summer I'm going to replace my hyperstar with a refractor, preferable more widefield than not. So what would be a good 60-90mm wide field refractor?
  20. Although it's still May... but I see what you mean. A 50 frame pano is NO fun.
  21. Thanks! Thanks, I'm shooting from Valley Center. Thanks Olly!
  22. I didn't really notice the stars, but as an afterthought they do look a bit annoying.
