  1. I find the psychology in this discussion interesting because I recently experienced the same. At home we are upgrading our XBOX One games console to the newly released Series X. Unfortunately to experience the new consoles full potential we also need a new TV! For three days I read articles, reviews, reports and opinion, trying to convince myself that TVs suitable for gaming all use the same screens (mostly LG or Samsung) so I could simply buy whichever was cheapest. I wanted to believe quality and design of ancillary components, firmware and system integration didnโ€™t matter. If I could persuade myself of this, I would save around ยฃ500! I failed. Saying didnโ€™t make it so. It was wishful thinking. The knowledge, experience and manufacturing abilities of brands like LG, Samsung & Sony does result in a better product. Now I must decide if this matters to me. Am I prepared to spend the extra. Steve
  2. So far, here in the UK we have never seen oil on a 2600 sensor ๐Ÿ™‚ Steve
  3. Our product descriptions for StellaLyra SuperView eyepieces were recently updated so AFOVs quoted are: 15, 20 & 30mm 68 degrees. 42mm 58 degrees. 50mm 48 degrees. We will update specโ€™s in Astronomy Tools soon. HTH, Steve
  4. That is good to hear ๐Ÿ™‚ Here in the UK if a sensor needs cleaning we will happily arrange that, assuming it is one of ours. Steve
  5. Sorry to hear that but no problem, when you are ready please email to arrange return ๐Ÿ™‚ When we added these eyepieces to our website we knew they were long established so didn't think to check specifications. We were not expecting them to attract so much discussion and debate. We will over time properly assess the AFOV of each eyepiece and update our specifications. I.e. currently we believe the 20mm has 67ยบ AFOV and the 50mm 48ยบ so have already updated their product pages. The 30mm appears to have a wider AFOV than expected so we'll delay updating that one until we are sure. No hurry. Please take your time. I will be interested to hear your feedback. HTH, Steve
  6. Done. Thank-you Steve ๐Ÿ™‚ Wratten 29 Dark red Filter
  7. This discussion is nearly nine years old, perhaps they are referring to a different model ๐Ÿ™‚ Steve
  8. Yes indeed. Lots of Telrads. We like the Telrad ๐Ÿ˜
  9. FLO now stocks a wide range of filters for visual astronomy ๐Ÿ™‚ Astro Essentials Visual Filters Use our pick & mix offers to choose your favourites. Manufactured by Guan Sheng Optical (GSO) in Taiwan.
  10. Unfortunately the difficulties at Felixstowe have already affected supply of astronomy products and will continue to until at least Christmas. Our main concern is, will the shipments scheduled to dock early-mid December be delayed. If they are then a lot of telescopes purchased for Christmas presents will not arrive until early-mid Jan. That would understandably cause some upset. Overall the stock availability situation is not improving and we donโ€™t think it will until after a vaccine is released and made readily available. This is true for many products, not only astronomy kit. These are extraordinary times. Steve
  11. It is a different eyepiece, not one of those discussed here. HTH
  12. It is all good. People are only sharing thier thoughts ๐Ÿ™‚ Steve
  13. โ€˜Revelationโ€™ was/is a Telescope House brand. Bresser-Germany purchased Telescope House some time ago. I no longer see Revelation Superview eyepieces at the TH website and those still listed at other websites (TH distributed them) are out of stock and/or offered at what appear to be clearance prices. I believe ยฃ69 is a good price for a 2โ€ GSO SuperView eyepiece. Steve
  14. @vlaiv The FOV charts now show the 8โ€ f12 Classical Cassegrain. ๐Ÿ™‚
  15. That is interesting because I liked mine and am struggling to think of another similarly priced 2โ€ eyepiece series with better performance. Steve
  16. Your comment started quite a debate between myself and some colleagues ๐Ÿ™ƒ You see, in our earlier days three of us at FLO have owned and used a number of these eyepieces with f5 & f6 Newtonians and liked them a lot. Speaking personally, I used the 30mm in a GSO 10" Dobsonian (both badged Revelation) then later in a Skyliner 300p. The views were wonderful. I remember Pleiades fitted the FOV beautifully when used with the 10" and only the outer 25% of the FOV softened. It was tack sharp where it mattered. It is true the edge sharpened when used with a slower focal-ratio telescope, like a SCT, but that is true for pretty-much any eyepiece. So with this in mind we are saying: "Suitable for telescopes with focal-ratios f/5 or slower (optimum performance achieved around f10)." All the eyepieces are covered by our 30-day return policy so if someone doesn't agree, they can easily return it for refund ๐Ÿ˜‡ Steve
  17. I don't think anyone has tried one yet but they should be. The sensor size would sit comfortably inside the illuminated field.
  18. I think they are priced about right (was expecting ยฃ270-300). I guess it depends though on what we compare them with. The William Optics 0.72x Reducer costs over double and the Explore Scientific 3" 0.7x Reducer costs roughly the same. They do cost more than most reducers designed for smaller aperture telescopes and Sky-Watcher's own Flatteners for Esprit 120 & 150. We will receive our first stock delivery Mon/Tue. We will then make some photographs so comparisons can be more easily made. HTH, Steve
  19. I will be surprised if they do not release one for the Esprit 80 & 100 but they haven't provided details. Will post here as soon as they do. Steve
  20. Sky-Watcher have released new optically-matched 0.77x Reducers for their Esprit 120 & 150 triplet refractor telescopes ๐Ÿ™‚ Sky-Watcher 0.77x Reducer for Esprit 120ED Triplet Sky-Watcher 0.77x Reducer for Esprit 150ED Triplet
  21. @vlaiv Asked the same question earlier in this thread. We will measure the field stops then update our product descriptions where necessary.
  22. Done ๐Ÿ™‚ "For best performance use with telescopes with focal-ratios f10 or slower." Measuring field stops and updating the FOV charts will take longer but will be done. Thank-you for the info. Steve
  23. At FLO when announcing StellaMira or StellaLyra products we always share who manufactures them. The information is available here and on our website ๐Ÿ™‚ I think it highly likely other major brands source from the same factories but they don't share that information so I cannot confirm. HTH, Steve
  24. @vlaiv @John As you know, these GSO manufactured eyepieces have been on the market for many years in one form or another. But they are new to FLO. We added them to our website only yesterday so if either of you notice any specifications that need correcting please let me know ๐Ÿ™‚ Steve
