Crab Nebula reported to be 2kpc away I think this is beyond distance we can find any solar systems currently.

Do you mean cartes du ciel?
if so its setup/disply/labels/ label object stars magnitude difference I changed mine to 4 and increased the label text size, then its down to your zoom amount I think.

I would suggest finding your local astro society and getting to know the observers there, they will likely be a good source of help.

I would suggest a Planisphere by Phillips large enough to read with a red torch outside to keep your dark adjusted vision - low cost and will work every night thats clear for the rest of your life.

I was at Polecottage on the top to see Neowise as tomato says up the Burway, perhaps worth a daylight trip to see if its any good for you.
