Thats why repeated observations are needed on all objects and searches done to find new ones. The calcs for orbits just need position and time of obs.

There is plenty we can do if one is found on our way.

There is a topic on here about red torches somewhere, the problems seem to be many are far too bright and people do walk about with them like lighthouses and the same applies to aps its more how you use them to minimise loss of dark adaptation.

Hi & welcome to the Forum.
Neowise is North West to North but very low down 10 -15 degrees above the horizon but it may be clear tonight so do try, I think Walsall AS are going to Barr Beacon tonight.
Think about joining your local astro society to get advice as well.
