  1. Ioptron iEQ45 Pro, anyone got experience of using this mount with the Az Base adapter? also how does this compare for ease of set up to say the Az EQ6 GT in alt az mode, need a simple to use goto mount for may OMC200.

  5. Hi Many thanks for the info and an explanation of the technicalities much appreciated! my particular scope is around 10 years old and was built by a group of enthusiasts called the Bolton group who also carried out a number of modifications over and above the Orion Optics uk standard kit. Still getting to grips with it, and after my Celestron 8" cpc finding the narrow field of view and presently no tracking or goto a bit challenging. Next operation is to find a suitable mount, looking at the SW az eq5 gt or 6 gt or even the new Ioptron az pro, as I'm not very technical and only need Alt az. Have had some fantastic views of the moon so far using a Baader 8-24 zoom. cheers and clear skies
  6. I know the spec says 15 + 15 each side in Alt Az mode but does anyone have experience of mounting an Orion Optics (UK) OMC200 on this mount, the tube is around 10 Kg but its quite a long scope? Also not being into astro photography the dual use of this goto mount appeals, Anyone had a look at the comming Ioptron AZ pro mount?
  7. I have recently acquired the above scope, does anyone have experience of what eyepieces suite its long focal length and narrow field of view?
  8. Hi Adam, just signed up on here, currently a member of Neas and wondered if you ever got any further with your Observatory and Planning Appeal?
