  1. Captured during the clear spell this week, amounting to 10 hours of exposures APM 107/700 - asi1600mm - Baader filters - iOptron CEM60 48 x 5min Luminance 24 x 5 min each RG&B Very much a version 1 process of the data - I'm used to brighter targets 🙂
  2. Managed to get it passing M10 on the 15th not yet 100% happy with the processing, which is proving tricky 😁
  3. Thank you! Yes, it’s around mag 7. Hopefully tomorrow it well placed with M10 for some interest. Finger crossed 🤞
  4. My first proper try at a colour comet image, and what a trial! Stacked for the background stars, then pulled the stars out with StarXTerminator. Then ran CometAlignment on all of the subs, and integrated the RG & B comet files with some aggressive rejection to clear up most of the start trails. Cleaned up the mono subs backgrounds. Combined into a colour image, then XTerminated some noise and sorted the colour balance Curves adjustments to taste then layered the stars back in Not 100% happy, as it still showing some diagonal artefacts from the stars but it's getting there. Hoping for a few more stabs at it 🤞 APM 107/700 + asi1600mm. 20 x 2min each in RG&B. Processed in PixInsight then Photoshop
  5. This morning’s efforts. My normal solar camera is off being looked at for a random freeze issue, so this is with the asi178mm. Had to tilt it aggressively to squash the rings, but it’s turned out okay
  6. A slight haze nearly stopped me setting up, but seems like it was worth it. Ha 9 panel mosaic, with a Quark, asi1600mm White light 2 panel mosaic with an Altair wedge, asi178mm
  7. Thank you! The animated gif looks better, but the forum doesn’t like the file 😞
  8. Replaced the avi with and embedded mp4
  9. This is from 10am till 11:50 today, 2000 frames then a 1 min wait (nearly ran out of disk space!). 81 frames total in the animation 2hours.mp4 Stacked in AS!3, processed in PixInsight & aligned in imPPG
  10. Daystar quark, 2 image composite of AR 3032 heading over the limb and AR 3038 in the image centre
  11. Slightly lacking inspiration on my one clear night, but this seemed like something that might be reasonable boxed off in a night NGC 6979 / Pickering's Triangle 30 x 120 Ha and the same in Oiii. APM 107/700, asi1600mm Stars and Starless, a 2 different versions:
  12. Thank you! I find balancing the colour takes up most of my time in processing.
  13. Captured as 2 panels per channel in LRG&B with an asi178mm @ 700mm Stacked in AS!3, then sharpened in PixInsight before mosaic merging with MS ICE, aligning in imPPG then off to Photoshop for colour balancing and saturation etc
  14. Morning! I had another bash at your data, this time stacking it from the raw data (PixInsight Weighted Batch Preprocessing, Maximum preset) Once stacked, I did a background extraction, stretch then Starnet2 to preserve the colour Beyond that it was mostly curves works and a rotation (sorry!)
  15. A grab before work (and clouds!). 2 panels: AS!3 -> PixInsight -> Photoshop (manual alignment, blending and colour)
  16. My processing workflow amounts to trying stuff and seeing if I like it 🙂 This is my take: Dynamic Crop EZ Soft Stretch Histogram transform (Rough colour balance) Curves (Colour balance) DarkStructureEnhance script twice. One at .40 and then one at .20 NoiseXterminator (just a light touch) SCNR to settle some remaining green ArcsinhStretch a tiny amount (1.4, I think ) Thank you for the data!
  17. Last nights (14th) 95% waxing gibbous moon. 8 part mosaic at 700mm with a QHY5iii462 colour camera, which is usually my guide camera. What a delight to process after doing so many with a mono camera! A different kind of task, compared to mono. With my 178m this would have been a 2 part mosaic, but still 8 stacks (LRG&B).
  18. Nicely done! It's very clean and crisp at 100%
  19. This was shot with a ProPlanet 642BP in lieu of the red channel, as the red seemed a little soft when processed (PixInsight, ICE, imPPG) 2 panel mosaic @700mm with the asi178mm. 1000 frames per channel / panel, 30% stack
  20. 10 x 240 sec of luminance dusted with 5 x 240 RG & B. I few sat trails sneaked through the pixel rejection, but nothing too bad It feels different to capture something so vanishingly fleeting as 62/63 million year old light zipping past in a tiny window of time Crops Full FOV
  21. The scope is an APM 107/700mm. It took some effort to drag it out of the background
  22. Thanks! It's 2 hours of Luminance, and the rest is 40 min each RG and B
